For our inaugural journey past city limits, we partnered with Far North Photo Festival - "a space to elevate the work of visual storytellers in the Circumpolar North." It was the first festival of its kind in Yellowknife (Nov. 15 - 17), and it was wildly successful. Over a weekend of workshops, exhibits, and panel discussions, northern photojournalists and visual storytellers shared and showcased their work.
Art Gallery of NWT was thrilled to extend the life of the festival by bringing photo selections, curated by festival organizer Amanda Annand, to new audiences. The photographs travelled to Dettah NWT, a Yellowknives Dene community of about 250, and to Mildred Hall School in Yellowknife.
